The Analand Sword is the default weapon obtained at the very beginning of Sorcery!. It has no special qualities.
Locations[]
Sorcery![]
- Received upon beginning combat practice in Analand.
Sorcery! 3[]
- If you climb the bridge pillar while owning several swords, when you get back down, you will find that some have been stolen and that "only your original Analand sword remains". Due to a bug, this happens even if you have lost your Analand sword. In this case, you will now be wielding your Analand sword again.
Uses[]
Sorcery![]
- If you use it to descend from the field into the elvin valley it will be blunted and have a -1 penalty. Due to a bug, this penalty is actually on your character instead of on your weapon and is therefore permanent, and will stay with you even if you switch weapons later.
- If you use it to free Alianna without casting RAZ, it will be blunted which gives you a -1 combat penalty. However, due to a bug, this penalty is actually on your character instead of on your weapon and will remain even if you switch weapons later. If you already own a broadsword when you use the Analand sword to free Alianna, the Analand sword will not actually be damaged (despite the text saying it was damaged) ; you do not receive the penalty even if you later lose the broadsword, and you will not have access to interactions that require your Analand sword be damaged.
- If your sword was damaged freeding Alianna, then when you buy the longsword in Dhumpus, it will give you a free +1 bonus to counterbalance the penalty (though it does not technically remove the penalty itself - you still have acces to interactions that require your Analand sword be damaged freeding Aliana). This only works if it was blunted freeing Alianna, not if it was blunted in any other way.
Sorcery! 2[]
- If you damaged your sword freeding Alianna, then the blacksmith can repair it, giving you a +1 combat bonus, but he will not repair any other form of damage to the sword. Due to the same bug, the bonus is to your character's stats, not your weapon's, which means it will apply even if you are not currently wielding the Analand sword and will stay even if you switch weapons later. Finally, there is a bug where if Lorag sends you back, you can get your sword repaired again even if it is already repaired. You can exploit this bug to get a really large combat bonus by repeatedly getting your sword repaired (and the bonus is on your character, so you keep it even if you switch weapons later)
- You can combine your Analand sword with a rope ladder to get over the graveyard fence. However you will lose both doing so.
Sorcery! 3[]
- If you encounter the bear in the forest of Snatta, play dead then do a surprise attack, the Analand sword provides an instant-kill of the bear. Any other sword is "too long and cumbersome to draw" which only results in the bear dealing 1 damage to you and entering combat.
Sorcery! 4[]
- From the DOP tower, teleport to the Khare crypts and talk to the deathwraith. If you damaged your Analand sword freeing Alianna and still own it, you can talk to the deathwraith about Alianna.
