Biography[]

Meeting the Unexpected[]

Elthera resides in South-Western Ishtara. Once the Analander has met Shadrack and activated the Winds of Time, they may find Elthera sitting underneath a tree west of Fishtail Rock. They may then begin speaking with her, asking various questions about the land that now surrounds them. She will explain they are in the land of Ishtara, a place of peace and plenty, eventually tapping a gemstone on her forehead asking them if they could help her train her third eye by playing her in a game of Mindstones, if the Analander corrects her, saying it is Swindlestones, she will say she has heard of that name but only from her master. If they try to cast a spell before accepting she will grab their arm and insist it is a game of not magic, but inner sense, they may then accuse her that it is an unfair game as she can read minds but they can not. She dismisses this claiming that she is such a novice it will be of no issue.

To Swindle the Mind[]

During their game of Mindstones, she will ask the Analander where they have come from, they will say that they have travelled from Kharé to which she will claim is a small village and a thuggish one but that Shadrack says it will be a place of importance, which she doubts. She will play the Analander in as many rounds of Mindstones as they want, as it is just for training. Eventually once the Analander has had enough, they may tell her so and she will give them her knuckle-bone dice stating that she foresees them being much more useful in their hands than hers, she then stands bidding them farewell and begins walking towards the cliff face that the Analander had originally entered Baddu-bak on, eventually disappearing from sight once she has crossed the barrier of the Ancient World and the Old World.

A Home Lost to Time[]

Shining the Beacons of Past Light on or waiting for the Winds of Time to pass over the cliff face, a cave will be revealed with curtains and rugs adorning it. The Analander may meet Elthera here once again but looking much older than she was last they met, comparing her to Gaza Moon. When entering her home she will laugh, saying that she had no idea she would ever see them again, the Analander will then ponder for a moment wondering where they recognize her before realizing they recognize her laugh as that of the young girl they played Mindstones with. She will recall that she laughed once they had beaten her at Mindstones and that was she rather in love with them back then, further saying that the Analander truly must be lost as they are still wandering the poisoned land of Ishtara after all these years, the Analander will then wonder of her age, Elthera explaining she was merely sixteen years old when they had first met, and that she is one-hundred and thirteen years old not counting her one year of life spent as an eagle. The Analander will be somewhat taken aback, expressing that it has not been that long for them, Elthera hopes that it is true and that they may escape unlike all of the other inhabitants of Ishtara who perished at the hands of the New Crown, saying that all who did survive wander the wilderness in circles, endlessly repeating themselves. At some point in their conversation the Analander may mention the Seven Serpents which will surprise Elthera, claiming that she has seen of this in the stars: Seven Serpents turning the fate of a person which turns the fate of a world, but that she thought they were just stars. Being told of their mortality and form, she will call the Analander both brave and foolish for believing they can stop them, as to know them is to be killed by them which is at what point the whole land will turn, ensuring that the land inevitably falls. Nearing the end of their conversation the Analander will mention that the bridge of Baddu-bak has fallen, which will cause Elthera to fall into despair, speaking with them no further,

Once the Analander has stopped talking to Elthera, they may investigate the rest of her home alone. If they gather some stone dust on the ground within her cave, her third eye will glow momentarily.

When the Analander goes to leave Elthera's cave, after having completed a full conversation with her, she will grab their leg and proclaim that she will find "Them" but it will take her quite some time to search, requesting that they eventually come back. Her eyes then roll up into her skull and she becomes catatonic.

A Diviner's Grave[]

The Analander may return to Elthera's cave in the present, finding scrawlings and glyphs upon the walls foretelling of the locations of the, Air, Water, Time and Moon serpent, the scrawlings end with a note from Elthera, wishing luck to "My Love",
