Note that the game does not keep track the size of your pile of gems. This means that adding new gems to the pile will not actually change it, and neither will removing 1 gem.

- In the well, at the ruined temple of Throff. (Note that if you already have a fistful of gems, you do not gain anything game-play wise)

- Can be sold to Oolooh in the caravan. (exact price depends on character)
- Can be crafted into the Jewel-Studded Medallion by the Klattaman craftsman, unless you already possess one. You will also have to pay him 20 gp or half your gold (whichever is smaller). Alternatively you can steal it but then he will attack you.
Sorcery! 4[]
- At the sidegate of Mampang, you can claim to be a gem merchant. If you have the firstful of gems and cooperate, the guard will examine your gems, take 1 as a bribe and then return the rest. (Note: You do not actually lose anything from this gameplay-wise.) If you let the guard take your gems and then 'misbehave' in some way, it is possible for you to permanently lose all your gems, so make sure to pick the right options.
- If you try to sell them to the peddler, he will direct you to the weapon's merchant.
- Can substitute for 600 gold to buy the Cutlass at the weapon's merchant.
