Gaza Moon is a character in Sorcery!: The Shamutanti Hills. She is a powerful sorceress living above the Crystal Waterfall in the Shamutanti Hills.

Biography[]

Gaza Moon is a sorceress living above the Crystal Waterfall in the Shamutanti Hills. She describes herself as having been 'quite well known in her ways.' She cursed the previous champion of Analand with rapid ageing as a punishment for stealing from her.

Lonely Witch[]

When passing by Gaza Moon's house for the first time after their encounter with Flanker the Assassin, the Analander will see her sitting quietly on the front step of her hut, she will beckon them over, stating her poor eyesight.

The Analander may accept her beckon and go to her, which will result in them entering her house for tea, or they may try to ignore her, and continue passing by.

If continuing to pass by, she will become enraged at them for their ignoration, and begin casting ZAP towards them, it will hit a tree, which they may dodge, or die to. If the Analander survives the first spell, she will begin casting again, instead aiming directly at them. Surviving the second and final ZAP through casting a spell, the Analander will hurriedly head towards Torrepani, leaving the angered cries of Gaza Moon behind.

Tea for Two[]

If the Analander accepts her initial beckon, they will enter Gaza Moon's house and sit down for tea with her, on entry, she will say she is lonely from living away from all of the surrounding villages, then immediately head to pour them both tea. Jann will state their distrust of her if present.

The Analander may converse with her before drinking tea, commenting on her home's beauty. Gaza Moon will tell them of a local rumor that the river running below her home, that fuels the Crystal Waterfall, carries all of her goodwill and youth away while she sleeps, the villagers bathing in it for good luck.

If the Analander decides to drink their tea, Gaza Moon will stop them before they can consume any of it, explaining she must get the pot first. At this point, the Analander may either wait for her to return, switch their cups, or continue to drink their own cup.

Deciding to switch the cups results in the Analander doubling over in pain immediately upon consumption. Gaza Moon will return quickly and boast on counting upon travelers suspecting her witchcraft, calling them a suspicious stranger. While they are paralyzed, she will root through their bag, and may pull out the spellbook page given to them by the rapidly ageing old man found in the tree outside of Cantopani, exclaiming that it is her missing spell page. She will ask why they did not inform her of the page and she will run off to bring them the antidote. Upon receiving the antidote, the Analander may converse with her further, asking who the old man is. Gaza Moon will say he is a rogue and a bandit who visited her four days ago, but while she was making the tea, he rooted through her spellbook and tore out a page, she spotted him as he did. She says he must have been a very powerful wizard as he promptly vanished once spotted, nearly too fast for her to curse him. Asking if she will uncurse him, she will look uncomfortable and explain she believes it to be too late, that she aged him to about one-hundred and thirty years old, wanting to slow him down, but speeding him up in a way, she will giggle and repair her spellbook, returning the page to it with some magic.

Choosing to drink their own cup before Gaza Moon's return will result in her consuming her own unswitched teacup, doubling over in pain instead and hobbling to retrieve the antidote for herself. After helping herself, she will resume conversation and eventually ask them if they have met an old man on their travels. The Analander may respond no, if true, or lie and refuse to show her the spellbook page if they have it, which will result in her shooing them away, ending the conversation. If they say yes and show her the page, she will be gleeful, taking it, repairing her spellbook, and continuing on.

Small Matter[]

Eventually, if the Analander peacefully concludes their conversations and tea with Gaza Moon, and returns her spellbook page, they may ask her about the purpose of her once missing spell. She will explain it is a pest repulsion spell, exclaiming its immense value to her 'around here.' At this point the Analander will take their leave whilst she is busy repairing her spellbook. Or, if Jann is present, she will then ask if they would like a demonstration of its usefulness.

Accepting results in Gaza Moon casting the spell, making Jann disappear as they angrily tell them off.

Declining results in Gaza Moon becoming confused at why you would want a creature such as Jann around, bidding you both leave.
