Glandragor is a character in Sorcery!: The Shamutanti Hills. He is a kindly tavern keeper with a rich history.
Biography[]
Old Allies[]
Glandragor was once a comrade of Vik. At some point, Vik left him for dead in Birritanti. He is implied to have once been quite heroic, and owned an axe identifying him as 'Glandragor the Protector'.
The Nostalgic Tavernkeeper[]
While in Cantopani, the Analander may have bought an old axe. It belongs to Glandragor and can be returned to him in his tavern in central Birritanti. He is kind to them regardless and will offer a replacement sword in return for the axe. He tells the Analander of his old heroism and how he knew Vik of Kharé.
Later, while visiting the Crystal Waterfall, the Analander can realise it has the potential to heal the plague village. They can head back to inform Glandragor and ask him to lead the villagers there, but Jann will always volunteer to go (to keep an eye on Glandragor if the Analander sends him).
Friend of a Friend[]
While in Kharé, the Analander can mention at several points to other characters such as Jeera or Vangorn that Vik is a friend of their friend, which is met with surprise as it quickly becomes apparent that Vik is a powerful man.
The true advantage of knowing him comes into play if the Analander is captured by Vik's slavers and placed in the hold of his ship. The Analander can yell up to the guards that he is a friend of Vik's, then mention Glandragor's name to get the attention of Vik himself. Correctly identifying him as an old comrade will allow the Analander to be freed. They can then have a brief and revealing conversation with Vik before being sent off amicably on a boat.
Visions[]
Glandragor does not appear directly again, but the Analander can briefly dream of him while nearing Mampang as one of their memories of The Shamutanti Hills. They realise they can barely remember the kindly tavernkeeper's face, and he bursts into laughter that gradually becomes haunting.
Personality[]
Glandragor is described as kindly but previously heroic and strong. He is described as having been a 'protector' and is one of few people the Analander would trust to cure the plague village. His relationship with Vik is ambiguous but he is implied to have been left behind by him at some point, perhaps a result of his earnestness.
Abilities[]
Glandragor is a seasoned warrior and suggested to have been a hardy opponent.
