Kariamma was a small village in the lands of Ishtara, which eventually ended up becoming the desolate wastes of the Baklands. It does not exist in the present, not even ruins, so the only way the Analander can access it is by shining one of the Beacons of Past Light onto the area where the village once stood.

History[]

Kariamma once was the home of a group of the Archmage's followers, living in what was once called Ishtara. It was also the birthplace of the Archmage himself, as well as Throben the Necromancer. Because they live in the Ancient World, the villagers might not understand references to current events or places the Analander might mention.

Locations[]

The Village[]

The Kitchens[]

During the daytime, the Analander can enter to find the cook making a stew with Snattacat meat. The cook comments on how some Snattacats close their eyes when they die so their meat ends up invisible. Depending on the circumstances the chef might become momentarily distracted, allowing the Analander to steal either a little stew or the flask of oil the chef was using.

If the Analander has the scroll from the Flayer's Hut from Sorcery! 2, they can offer the scroll to the chef if they find out she can understand it. The result is Nightshade Soup, which must be eaten at night since it makes the taster incredibly sleepy, but will grant the Analander +1 to their maximum stamina.

The Bunks[]

The sleeping quarters are available for the Analander to rest in during the night, and is the spot to taste the previously mentioned Nightshade Soup. Depending on the choices the Analander has previously made, they can opt to steal various possessions from the sleeping villagers. However, if they are caught doing this act at any time afterward in the village, they will be punished.

The Fire[]

A fire-pit, similar to the one in the Klattaman Village, that allows the Analander to cook their raw food, converse with the locals, and possibly obtain some sand and pebbles.

The Northern Tunnels[]

The Analander may find that there are old mining tunnels North of the village that the people of Kariamma tend to avoid. It is dark in the tunnels, and magic cannot reach the Analander as they are too far underground beneath a mountain. If the Analander has a tinderbox, then any burnable object should work, however.
