The North Gate Spell is spell that allows the one casting it to control the North Gate of Kharé.
The Analander used the spell to leave and potentially save Kharé in Sorcery! 2: Kharé: Cityport of Traps.
History[]
The individual lines of the spell were distributed among the Nobles of Kharé because of their power when combined. The only one who knows every line of the spell is the First Noble, Sansas.
The Spell[]
‘By Courga’s grace and Fourga’s Pride,
One lock made of Golem’s Hide,
Tumblers two sealed deep inside,
I bid you Portals, open wide
Obtaining the Spell Lines[]
The Analander traversed Kharé to find all of the lines and the order they come in.
- The order of the lines is scratched onto a wall in the Sewers, discernible because scattered words from the spell are visible. Courga can also tell them to the Analander.
- Theetah knows part of the first line. He can be found blinded and poor in the Fallen Quarter. Courga can finish the line if asked in his temple, or it can be overheard by following the goblins in the sewers.
- Shinva knows the second line. He is a ghost, stuck in his tomb in the graveyard.
- Lorag knows the third line, and will tell the Analander when visited in his home or when seen at the North Gate. It is also inscribed on his gravestone if the Analander has some charcoal to make a rubbing with.
- Moulas's line, the final one, can be obtained by the Priest of Slangg, since Moulas was a follower of Slangg. Either answer the impossible question ('Sirisi') or the easy question ('Flanker'), and convert to Slangg. It can also be found written on two scraps of paper, one deep in south Kharé and the other in the throat of his dead body.
